Stop Saving the Bath Bomb: Why Every Day Deserves to Be Special

Stop Saving the Bath Bomb: Why Every Day Deserves to Be Special

Are you one of those people who save things for a “special occasion”? How many beautiful bath bombs are collecting dust in your bathroom? What about that piece of jewelry your grandmother gave you that rarely sees the light of day?

I hate to break it to you—but every day is a special occasion.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started viewing life as a waiting game: just get through Monday to make it to Friday, get through the month to make it to that one vacation or celebration. But life isn’t meant to be a countdown to the next big moment. Every single day we wake up is a gift, and we deserve to treat it as such.

Burnout is Real… But So is Joy

The pressures of the modern world are relentless. Between work, family responsibilities, and the constant hum of daily stress, it’s no wonder we feel exhausted and overwhelmed. But here’s the thing—joy doesn’t require grand gestures. Sometimes, all it takes is 30 minutes a day to step outside and recharge your spirit.

Summer is here, and it’s the perfect time to reconnect—with nature, with yourself, and with life. Take a walk. Go for a swim. Sit on a park bench with a journal. Practice yoga under the sun. Even feeding ducks at a pond can be more therapeutic than you think.

Reconnect with Those You Love

Set aside one weekend a month to be intentional with your time. If you have a partner, bring back date night. Remember what brought you together in the first place? Yep, the fun. The laughter. The effort. If you have kids, take a Saturday or Sunday to simply play with them. Whether it’s a day at the park, a trip to the arcade, or just being silly together—it matters.

And if you’re single (like some of us are), this is your chance to date the most important person in your life: you.

Take yourself to dinner. Get that massage. Book the salon appointment. Or ditch the makeup and slip into your comfiest clothes. Whether you’re glamming up or dressing down, make sure it’s about self-care and having fun. Go dancing. Take a class. Spend a weekend at a winery—you’d be surprised how many other solo adventurers you’ll find there.

Book the Trip. Seriously.

Once a year, go somewhere new. I know it’s tempting to return to that same vacation spot year after year—it’s comfortable, familiar. But you weren’t born to play it safe. You were born to experience the world.

Traveling to new places sparks creativity, curiosity, and confidence. It lights up your brain in all the right ways. Sure, it can feel scary at first—but excitement and fear can exist in the same moment. Embrace it.

Try new food. Hear new music. See new faces. Collect new stories.

A Word from Portugal…

Eight months ago, I packed up and moved to Portugal. Every day here brings something new—new challenges, new joys, new discoveries. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it. This life feels vibrant, alive, and full of potential.

You don’t have to move across the world to feel this kind of spark. But you do have to stop living on autopilot.

So stop saving the bath bomb.

Wear the special dress.

Book the trip.

Your future self is already smiling in gratitude.

Be sure to look for my upcoming YouTube Video where we will talk about this a little more.

Don't stop dreaming beyond!
